Brush-off
BRUSH-OFF

Definitions:

i. (informal) Rude or unfriendly behaviour that shows that a person is not interested in somebody.

ii. (informal) If someone gives you the brush-off when you speak to them, they refuse to talk to you or be nice to you.

1. Person being rude or uninterested will have a reason or reasons, stated or not, sensible or not, for attitude.

2. Taciturn or unpleasant person does not have a physical or medical challenge to use as an excuse for (mis)behaviour.

3. You know or suspect what is responsible for unfriendly attitude being shown to you. That is, you probably did or said a wrong thing.

4. There will be no opportunity or justification to repay person in own coin. That is, you cannot do same back to 'foe'.

5. (Reserved.) (You suffer some indignity, shame, disgrace, etc. as a direct consequence of the bad treatment you receive.)
