| BAND OF HOPE Definition: An association of young persons pledged to life-long abstinence from alcoholic drinks - first instituted in about 1847. ______________________________________________________________________ * All nine elements should and would be in. 1. Members have purposes and necessities for belonging. 2. Effect of alcoholism has been directly felt or seen by youngsters. 3. Membership will be open to all interested youngsters. 4. Cost involved is not prohibitive, i.e., fees, if any, will be affordable. 5. Willingness to be 'breath-tested', always, is present. 6. Conduct will not involve a play-acting or mimicking some drunkard. 7. Believes or believing that nothing being missed herein. 8. Resolving, together, to not change their minds on becoming adults. 9.
