Brinkmanship
BRINKMANSHIP

Definition: The activity, especially in politics, of getting into a situation that could be very dangerous in order to frighten people and make them do what you want.

1. Purposeful and necessary for who engages in activity.

2. Situation will be deliberately created and got into (to emphasize).

3. A safety net will be in place, in the circumstance, although this cannot be known to others.

4. No provisions will be made in situation for a forced competition, debate, negotiation, compromise, etc.

5. People intended to be frightened are not in a position to suspect strategy or tactic. And no telltale signs will be given, in furtherance of motive.

6. Situation will be controllable or manageable and lasts for only the duration desired, before the risk of an unplanned loss threatens or arises.

7. Method achieves objective(s) or serves purpose(s).

8. Never admitted later as a deliberately created situation.
