| TESELLATION Definitions: i. The process of tesellating a surface, or the state of being tesellated (a tesellation of a flat surface is the tiling of a plane using one or more geometric shapes, called tiles, with no overlaps and no gaps). ii. In mathematics, tesellations can be generalized to higher dimensions and a variety of geometrics. iii. A pattern of shapes that fit perfectly together. [A tesellation (or Tiling) is when we cover a surface with a pattern of flat shapes so that there are no overlaps or gaps.] iv. A tesellation is created when a shape is repeated over and over again covering a plane without any gaps or overlaps. v. A tesellation is basically a way to tile a floor (that goes on forever) with shapes so that there is no overlapping and no gaps. vi.
