Elevator etiquette
ELEVATOR ETIQUETTE

Definition: Bahaviour that is considered appropriate while riding on an elevator, especially if with others.

1. Purposeful to observe 'codes of conduct'.

2. Necessary, if believed the better option is not to take the stairs.

3. Respect the queue, while waiting arrival.

4. While waiting to enter, keep a safe distance, from door of machine.

5. Gently go in, when door opens, after others, if any, have come out.

6. Hold the door, for others to come in too.

7. Don't squeeze in - wait, if already full.

8. Control the buttons, if closest to it, in consultation with others.

9. Do speak, if you will, in a low tone (connect to #10).

10. Conversation should be sparing - offer or receive only greetings.

11. Move in towards the back, as people come inside.

12. No telephoning, texting, sexting, etc., at this time.

13. Keep any items in possession close to the floor or near the feet.

14. Announce early - and audibly - the intention to exit.

15. Restrain from drinking or eating or smoking while in.

16. Do not drop wrappings on leaving the machine; keep lift clean.

17. If facility has a manager, obey all his or her instructions, PLEASE.
