BRAVERY (1)

Definition: (of a person) The willingness to do things which are difficult, dangerous or painful; being not afraid.

* All eleven elements should be in.


1. Purposeful - even if only the brave knows this.

2. Things needed to be done are known beforehand (= the thing, not necessarily the time to do them).

3. There is/are great risk(s) (= dangerous consequence(s)) involved in things and this/these is/are known to "Mr Brave".

4. Decision to go ahead with act is totally of the volition of the person showing the willingness (connect to #3).

5. Willingness (= decision) has a solid basis - expected reward/gain, belief, hope, escape from danger, reaction to a threat, etc. - not a readiness based on Dutch courage ! That is, footing will be character and self-worth (= determination, commitment, confidence, knowledge and hopefulness).
