Simple harmonic motion
SIMPLE HARMONIC MOTION

Definition: A vibratory motion in which the acceleration of the object is proportional to and in a direction opposite to the displacement from a point of equilibrium, and that is characterized by a single frequency and amplitude. Thus, the projection of a point moving in uniform circular motion on the diameter of its trajectory moves with simple harmonic motion.
