| SCUT WORK Definition: (slang) Hospital staff term for unpleasant work, especially trivial chores, paperwork, or work that could be done by someone else. ________________________________________________________________________ * All eight elements should be in. 1. Purposeful and necessary, even if only in the hospital's management's opinion, for work to be done. 2. Not on an official schedule of duties and, but, not work unauthorized or obscurantist or so difficult. 3. Clearly not tasking or challenging the intellect/strength. Therefore, will bring no profit or advantage. 4. Won't be specially paid for, and never commended, when it's successfully executed (to emphasize). 5. Time spent doing work could have been better utilized for something much more beneficial to the employee. 6. Another competent staff would be available at the time even if he or she would have grudgingly done the work. 7. The annoying task must be done as a sanction or punishment or loss can be suffered from shirking responsibility. 8.
