| DOWDYISM Definitions: i. (archaic) The quality of being dowdy (lacking style or elegance; crassness; frumpiness; plainness). ii. (dated) A plain, unfashionnable style of dress. ______________________________________________________________________ * All eight elements would be in. 1. purposeful and necessary, especially if meant to achieve a particular goal or serve a specific end ... wouldn't shock. 2. Size(s) or measurement(s) will be visibly or clearly not OK or suitable and won't ever sit on the wearer. 3. Food, shelter, housing, as applicable, would have taken up the resources that would have been used to better dress. 4. Covers the part(s) of the body that will need to be covered - doesn't get rejected or fail to 'move', if on sale. 5. Would have been made or sewed by a 'carpenter'. That is, not the effort of a trained tailor or seamstress, or couturier ! 6. There will be dominance or prevalence of 'colour riot' and if of a single colour, shade will not be warm of 'loud' - don't copy it !! 7. Will be stringently criticized or derided by the so-called fashionista (connect to #1, to emphasize) - mus not 'fly' !!! 8. Serves purpose(s).
