Catachumenism
CATACHUMENISM

Definitions:

i. The condition of a person who is receiving basic instruction in the doctrines of Christianity in preparation for the sacrament of confirmation.

ii. (ecclesiastical) A person under instruction in the rudiments of Christianity, as in the early church.

iii. A neophyte.

1. Believed purposeful and necessary for and by the neophyte.

2. Being brought under 'wings' would be of one's own volition.

3. Place is right, i.e. officials instructing are born-again.

4. Methodologies adopted have biblical foundations.

5. Student-learner is ever listening or attentive.

6. Who is being instructed puts in extra efforts.

7. Practicals is included therein - going to church evangelism, etc.

8. Process of learning permits student to ask all salient questions.

9. Course is completed early/timely, without grading (to emphasize).

10. Activities achieve objective(s) (see definition).

11. Backsliding, if any, won't end in change of faith.

12. Confirmed Christian makes heaven on Judgment day.
