| SPOLIATION (2) Definition: (law) The alteration or mutilation of a document to prevent its use in evidence. ______________________________________________________________________ * All nine elements should be in. 1. Purposeful and necessary, especially in the spoiler's opinion. 2. Veracity or genuineness of stated document won't be in doubt. 3. Occurs before the commencement of trial, not in a courtroom. 4. Nothing of importance or valuable can be got from 'remnant'. 5. Certified true copy, scanned copy, etc., unobtainable thence. 6. Justice can never be served by destruction or spoiling tactics. 7.
