| SECESSIONISM Definition: The doctrine of those who favor secession from some body. ______________________________________________________________________ * All eight elements would be in, for doctrine to be meaningful. 1. Self-sufficiency is guaranteed immediately after separation. 2. Arrangement for administering new entity will be foolproof. 3. Methods or means applied to get freedom can be affordable. 4. Main body won't become an enemy on securing independence. 5. Regional/international community will approve breakaway. 6. Part of the 'new' will be allowed, if desired, to later secede. 7. Talks or negotiations would have been exhausted beforehand. 8.
