Moment of inertia
MOMENT OF INERTIA

Definition: (physics) A quantity, analogous to mass for linear motion, defined as the ratio of a torque to the angular acceleration of thew rotation it produces, both quantities being measured with respect to the same axis of rotation. The moment of inertia is equal to the sum of the products of the mass elements of a non-continuous rigid body and the squares of the perpendicular distances of each element to the axis of rotation.
