| MINITRIAL Definition: Out-of-court hearings with set rules presented to a neutral expert. Minitrials are designed to save court costs in settling minor disagreements. ______________________________________________________________________ * All nine elements should be in. 1. Believed purposeful and necessary (connect to #2). 2. Voluntarily agreed to by all the parties or stakeholders. 3. Commences immediately on a notice, filing, an arraignment, etc. 4. Costs next to nil in terms of expert's professional fees. 5. Decision(s) jointly reached, is/are agreed to, afterwards, by all. 6. Legal proceedings will continue at the end of hearing. 7. Expert will have nothing to do with case on resumption of trial. 8. Time or duration that hearings lasts will be minimal. 9. Hearings are conducted under a fair hearing or fairness doctrine.
