| YUPPIFICATION Definition: (informal, disapproving) The act of making something such as an area of a city more expensive and fashionable, and attractive to yuppies. ______________________________________________________________________ * All seven elements would be in. 1. Purposeful and necessary for those that will effect changes. 2. New facilities and infrastructures considered appropriate will be put in place throughout the area. 3. Adequate security and appropriate protection will be available, throughout the day, evenings and night, in particular area. 4. Service providers will always fulfil all legal obligations. That is, there will not be a situation where access will be denied to any facility on account of a 'watering hole' being under a 'lock and key'. 5. Cost of service in area will be the highest within the vicinity of the area, ... quality will, or can, be another matter altogether. 6. Structures, apartments/flats, that can be rented, leased, bought, etc. in the area will be of the highest grade. 7. Act achieves objective(s). That is, area is patronized by the yuppies after efforts have been concluded to make it specially attractive. ____ YO ! | |
