| WRANGLING Definition: A situation of arguing over a complicated matter that continues over a long period of time. ______________________________________________________________________ * All nine elements would be in. 1. Purposeful, in the opinion of those involved. 2. Considered a necessity to continue argument over a long or extended period of time (connect to #1). 3. Issues involved are truly understood as complex. That is, the people arguing are smart enough to discern matter in contention. 4. There is an expectation of a gain from 'winning' argument. 5. No room is made available for mediation. Or a reconcilable or interventionist move will be unsuccessful. 6. (Reserved.) (No physical exchanges will be involved in stating case. That is, argument will not descend into fisticuffs, etc.) 7. Loss will arise from expended energy, breath, waste of time, etc. 8. Will end at last, however long argument continues (see definition). 9. Achieves no goal(s) or serves no purpose(s), at least not in the immediate or short-term.
