| WORK RELEASE Definition: (US) A system that allows prisoners to leave prison during the day to go to work. ______________________________________________________________________ * All nine elements should be in. 1. Purposeful and necessary (to emphasize). 2. Prisoner is not in jail as a result of a miscarriage of justice. 3. Beneficiaries (= working prisoners) are those eligible in accordance with the conditions or terms of their imprisonment. 4. Approved as appropriate by the prison authority. 5. Prisoners are monitored while away, out of prison gates. 6. Earnings from work is not shared with prison or its officials. 7. No offense or crime is committed, by criminal, while out to work.
