| WITCH-HUNT (1) Definition: (usually disapproving) An attempt to find and punish people who hold opinions that are thought to be unacceptable or dangerous to society. ______________________________________________________________________ * All seven elements should be in. 1. Purposeful and necessary for the 'hunters'. 2. Opinions that qualify for commentator(s) to be pursued are publicly known. That is, unacceptable or dangerous standpoints are specific and identifiable. 3. Proposed or planned punishment will be considered as excessive by sufferer, if and when caught and punished. 4. 'Hunter' is believed qualified to inflict punishment, by way of authority, law, strength, etc. 5. Resistance, struggle, a fight or fightback, etc. will be put up before victim is subdued. And an escape will be impossible once victim is caught! 6. Will continue for necessary period of time, until prey is caught, even if attempt will end up in only a warning, caution, fine, levy, etc., etc. That is, try will serve purpose(s). 7.
