Definitions:

i. A legal document that says what is to happen to somebody's money and property after they die.

ii. (law) The legal document containing a written statement of how one wishes one's property to be dealt with after one's death.

* All seven elements should be in.


1. Purposeful and necessary.

2. Should make adequate provisions for children's, ward's, spouse's (if any) and relation's (if desired) schooling and/or lifestyle, ad infinitum, if need be.

3. Should give what is left after (#2) above, to charity.

4. Should leave no debt or liability for the executioner or beneficiary. (To emphasize.)

5. Should leave no room for and have no legal dispute after testator's death. That is, document would be respected after the testator's passing. In other words, should serve purpose(s).

6. Should be publicly made known before the testator's demise (if there is a protest by a potential beneficiary and a change isn't effected by 'the living', there would be no possibility to make a successful claim in the future).

7. Should be made when testator is sharp in thought and smart in memory, not when senile, incapacitated or schizophrenic.
