| WAKE (2) Definition: An occasion before or after a funeral when people gather to remember the dead person, traditionally held before the funeral to watch over the body before it is buried. ______________________________________________________________________ * All eleven elements should be in. 1. Purposeful and necessary - custom and/or tradition. 2. Not organized against the wishes of the dead as exclusively stated in his or her will, if any. 3. Body being watched over is the right one. 4. Corpse (= body) is in a 'healthy' state or condition. 5. Arrangements and organization are efficient and effective. 6. No unplanned loss arises directly as a result of activities. And no indebtedness occurs afterwards, on 'behalf' of the deceased. 7. Duration that event or activity lasts is considered as reasonable. 8. Body will be buried, as soon as possible, the following morning/day (connect to #7). 9. (Reserved.) (Legacy, if any, of the departed will be remembered or the person's memory will not be immediately forgotten after occasion.) 10. Location is appropriate and the neighbours or the people around the vicinity are not inconvenienced as a direct result of remembrance being held. 11.
