Definition: (US) Something less than a grave fault that causes a person to be viewed critically.

1. The thing will be specific and identifiable. And the person will be aware of its presence.

2. Shortcoming will be measurable and/or assessable. And will be considered as fully developed.

3. Nature of the thing will be permanent and impossible to be made graver for person to be 'crucified'.

4. Results in or causes a loss for who has blemish. That is, opinions held by others will be unsympathetic.

5. Cannot be corrected or 'cleaned out', denied or ignored, etc. And this will lead to a real criticism, rejection, etc.

6. Not possible to be rectified by the instrumentality of the law or dictates of changed rules, etc. And must therefore be lived with.
