To remain in a place or in a state of inactivity, indecision, delay or anticipation because of some event expected to happen or a person expected to arrive, etc. ______________________________________________________________________ * All six elements should be in. 1. Purposeful and necessary for who or what waits. 2. Prior knowledge of the outcome of the tarry turning out fruitful (on appointment, etc); not on a guess or forlorn hope. 3. Nothing is lost or will be lost by the tarry. 4. Expected result or outcome of the linger makes it worthwhile or justifiable. 5. Act or time is not at another's inconvenience. 6.
