Vilification
VILIFICATION

Definition: The act of saying or writing unpleasant things about somebody/something so that other people will have a low opinion of them.

* All seven elements would be in.


1. Purposeful and necessary for the speaker or writer.

2. A basis exists, even if undisclosed and/or unacceptable to another.

3. What is said or written are not untruths or half-truths.

4. No opportunity will be provided during speech or in writing for the 'victim' to state or explain own position or to try and refute an 'accusation' or 'allegation'.

5. A loss will be suffered, by the subject of attack, as a result of what is said or written.

6. Act achieves objective(s). That is, whatever is said or written will be completely believed, and the formerly good reputation of the victim will thereafter decline.

7. There will be no recant, regret, apology, etc., afterwards, whether a gain was made or not by the person vilifying another.
