| VICTIM SUPPORT (2) Definition: Victim support is the giving of help and advice to people who are victims of crime. ______________________________________________________________________ * All seven elements should be in. 1. Purposeful and considered necessary by the giver(s)/receiver(s). 2. Help, advice, etc. will be given and received freely or willingly. 3. Assistance (= help and advice) will be timely, to have a meaning. 4. What will be given will be appropriate - won't expose sufferers to new or different possibilities of falling preys, again, to criminals. 5. Recipients will not be asked to make any financial payment or commitment for what is or will be received as help and advice. 6. Helpers and advisers will not suffer an unplanned loss in the course of being benefactors or while having good intentions. 7.
