| VETERAN (2) Definition: (North American English) A person who has been a soldier, sailor, etc. in a war. ______________________________________________________________________ * All ten elements would be in. 1. Participated fully in the war - all through duty tour. 2. The time spent in the war front was considerable. 3. Will not exaggerate exploits on return from 'the front'. 4. Will not be suffering from a life-threatening injury, etc. as a direct fallout of war activities. 5. Can recall or remember all the major events that happened in the war. And will have no psychological problems - nightmares, trauma, split-personality disorder, etc. 6. Was never a POW and did not go on AWOL during the period of the campaign - even if he/she escaped from enemy camp and/or returned to unit and served a punishment for being a temporary deserter. 7. Has a souvenir, memento, an artefact, etc. from the war. 8. Will eventually return, timely and intact, or surrender the spoils of war, if any, in his or her possession. 9. Will not, on returning alive, advocate war as a means of settling a dispute or disagreement. 10.
