| VACATION (1) Definition: (in Britain) One of the periods of time when universities or courts are closed; (in the US) one of the periods of time when schools, colleges, universities or courts of law are closed. ______________________________________________________________________ * All eight elements should be in. 1. Purposeful and necessary (connect to #2). 2. Planned in the calendar, that is, period is programmed. And commenced on time! 3. Nothing official is outstanding or left unfinished before start of period. 4. Nothing untoward will be done between teacher and student, judge and litigant, etc. during period. And the period is thoroughly enjoyed, whether those 'books' or 'cases' are looked at on not. 5. Period is rejuvenating and/or refreshing for vacationers. That is, the activities that will be engaged in during break will be considered helpful in the performance of roles when studies, work, etc. is resumed (connect to #4, to emphasize). 6. There will be ability and willingness to resume after it ends, unless a resignation request was put in, at the commencement of vacation period. 7.
