| UPSTART Definition: (disapproving) A person who has just started in a new position or job but who behaves as if they are more important than other people, in a way that is annoying. ______________________________________________________________________ * All six elements would be in. 1. Knows duties, functions and responsibilities. 2. Performs job creditably, efficiently and effectively. 3. Always requests for and demands recognition, respect, acknowledgment, appreciation, etc. 4. Will be reluctant to cooperate or collaborate with others, especially if demands are not met by the other older employees. 5. Will be told of unacceptable attitude or behaviour. Has a negative effect on the work force, even if this does not reflect in a loss for the group or organization. (Connect to #4 & #6.) 6. Will not resign - cannot be frustrated - or be sacked soon after resuming new job.
