Definitions:

i. [ ~ (to somebody/something) ] A person who gives away secrets about their friends, their country, etc.

ii. A person who betrays a trust or acts against sworn loyalty, especially someone guilty of treason.

1. Has a purpose and considers it a necessity to betray.

2. Was trusted or relied upon to be faithful and/or loyal.

3. Will expect some benefit or gain from bad behaviour or attitude.

4. Never really has a clearly identifiable justification. That is, person did not complain of marginalization, injustice, etc. to warrant an understanding of treacherous and/or negative conduct.

5. Will not put self - and family, relations, etc. - at risk in the course of betrayal; does not ordinarily expect to be caught or found out and punished or sanctioned.

6. Will not be turned down or rejected or squealed on, on committing act, even if anticipated gain or advantage is not obtained from the betrayal. That is, person achieves objective(s).

7. Betrayal will be found out later, whether a harm, disgrace, loss, etc. comes to person or not from displayed disloyalty.

8. Will have undisclosed regrets in the future, for letting down friends, country, etc. (to emphasize), even if this feeling of selfishness or self-pity is unacknowledged.
