| TIMEOUT (1) Definitions: i. (North American English) A short period of rest during a sports game. ii. A time when a team can call a stop to the game for a few minutes in order to rest and discuss how they are going to play. ______________________________________________________________________ * All eight elements should be in. 1. Purposeful for who makes call. (To emphasize.) 2. Considered a necessity to achieve specific goal(s). 3. Basis of request will be genuine - tiredness, 'losing', etc. 4. Happens timely, when adequate period will still be available to get full benefit of discussion or planning. 5. Approved, as stated in the rules. That is, process or procedures adopted to get 'relief' will be authorized. 6. Player(s) will be fit to continue game after period. That is, no unplanned loss will be suffered as a result of having break. 7. Lasts for period of time desired but without encroaching on playing time, whatever the outcome of session. 8.
