| THINK PIECE Definition: An article in a newspaper or magazine that discusses a particular subject in a serious and thoughtful way. ______________________________________________________________________ * All seven elements should be in. 1. Purposeful and necessary, especially for writer/publisher. 2. Printed whole, complete in an issue or publication. (To emphasize.) 3. Thoroughness (details) and logic (reasoning) will be ordinarily clear, concise to an informed reader. 4. Length and print of write-up will not make reading boring or laborious, with or without graphs, pictorials, etc. 5. Contains no quiz or puzzle or trick question or ... . That is, there will be no grey area and/or lacuna in writing. 6. Properly and conspicuously, strategically positioned in newspaper or magazine. That is, article cannot be missed, whatever its heading. 7. Will have an impact. That is, there will be a follow-up from the readership.
