| BIOCENOSIS (2) Definition: (environment) An ecological unit comprising both plant and animal populations of a habitat. ______________________________________________________________________ * All eight elements would be in. 1. Purposeful for plants and animals to be in existence. 2. Necessary for both plants and animals to be in the same location. 3. Coexistence is assured for both inhabitants. That is, the plants will not disturb the animals and animals will not feed on the plants. 4. Production or reproduction will be possible in the community. That is, the plants and animals will not go extinct from being restricted. 5. The amount and numbers of plants and animals will be very adequate. 6. All plants and animals will be healthy and certified fit for human consumption, and so able to contribute to the economy or well-being. 7. Community will be protected and sustained for the desired period of time, with or without using a scarecrow, an extra farmhand, etc. 8.
