TEAM (2) Definition: A group of people who play a particular game or sport against another group of people. ______________________________________________________________________ * All nineteen elements should be in. 1. Purposeful and necessary - the group, event and playing ! 2. Prepares adequately and properly - camping, practice, acclimatization, etc. - however selected! 3. All the members (= players) in group are physically fit to participate effectively in the game/sport without the use of banned substances or performance-enhancing drugs. _________________________________________ AMATEUR, SPECIAL OR PROFESSIONAL SPORT (preliminary, play-offs, final, friendly, etc.) 4. Has a captain/head who is popular amongst the members and is a real leader of boys and/or girls, men and/or women. 5. Tactically disciplined. That is, has a known strategy and its members obey the instructions of coach. 6. Members are cool-headed during play. That is, they have the right mentality for the game/sport during play. (Connect to #8.) __________________________ HOWEVER LONG EVENT LASTS (ambidextrous, leftie/southpaw, right-hander/legged players(s)). 7. Jells at the right time! That is, members get into their strides at the best possible time - communicates, together, organized. (To emphasize.) 8. Each member is prepared, willing and able to go the extra mile for every member of the group at all times. That is, every person is a team player. 9. Group has a competent and experienced trainer/coach/supervisor. ________________ WHATEVER NAMED (United. Hawks. Falconets. Warriors. Wizards. Yankees, Three Lions, Rangers, etc.). 10. Each member in the group knows role(s) and plays this/these effectively and/or efficiently (connect to #7, #8 & #9). 11. Group plays according to the rule(s). That is, individually and collectively, no cheating and/or 'trickery' is employed by group. 12. Members are concerned only about group success; solid, compact, etc. (to emphasize). 13. Each member has a high level of self-discipline: no betting or match-fixing arrangements, etc. (to emphasize, connect to #6 & #11). ______________________ IT'S A COLLECTIVE! (New/fresh and/or old/experienced players). 14. Support or fan base exists and this is superb: active, excellent, assured and true. 15. Group is well administered, that is, its administration is adequate and appropriate support and attention is given to the sporting needs of all its members. 16. Group achieves objective(s) - as trained and prepared for! __________________ NEVER ONE-MAN ! (no stars or hero/heroine or 'mainstay'!). 17. No injury, wound, sickness during play. And where a player is indisposed, an equally able substitute is available and promptly introduced, whenever necessary. That is, group has some strength in depth. 18. Members of the group are 'thinking players' - feeling no pressures, but seeing only opportunities (to emphasize). 19. (Reserved.) (Never disbanded or fined or suspended!
