| TASK FORCE (1) Definition: A military force that is brought together and sent to a particular place. ______________________________________________________________________ * All nine elements should be in. 1. Purposeful and necessary. 2. Has an authorization to be constituted. 3. Mission or mandate is specific and identifiable. 4. The total strength of the men and women is adequate. 5. Military equipment, machinery, arms and ammunition, etc. will be of the appropriate quality and quantities. 6. Commanders at all levels will be competent and capable. And the other ranks or 'foot soldiers' will also be disciplined and able. 7. Performs functions in line with the rules of engagement, while suffering only the minimum casualties, if at all. (To emphasize.) 8. Achieves objective(s), no matter how long it takes. 9. Does not become an occupying force after completion of assignment.
