| TALKING SHOP Definitions: i. (British English, disapproving) A place where there is a lot of discussion and argument but no action is taken. ii. (mainly British) (disapproving) If you say that a conference or a committee is just a talking shop, you disapprove of it because nothing is achieved as a result of what is discussed. ______________________________________________________________________ * Description will be valid if or when all ten elements are in. 1. Session would be initially promoted or advertised as beneficial. 2. A lot was involved in organizing the conference, debates and all. 3. The quality of participants, presents, etc. cannot justify a failure or an inaction. 4. No valid or reasonable excuse or justification can be provided for the flop or let-down. 5. The time spent could have been used for more profitable endeavours. 6. The deliberations would be clearly understandable or understood. 7. Disapproval is openly stated or publicly mentioned (connect to #9). 8. You did not participate effectively in the talk. (To emphasize.) 9. There will be no reasonable evidence that prospect (of action) or augury (of success) will be bright or promising. 10.
