| SWEEPING STATEMENT Definition: When someone says something that is very general and has not been carefully thought about. ______________________________________________________________________ * All eight elements would be in. 1. Comments will be purposeful and necessary for who generalizes. 2. Utterance or the purport of 'talk' will not be clearly 'out of sync'. 3. Who makes statement will ordinarily be capable of ratiocination. 4. An excuse will be given, if (an) the outlandishness is challenged. 5. A valid reason cannot be provided for the preposterous statement. 6. Some serious loss, shame, etc. will be suffered as a consequence. 7. Whatever will be said cannot be recanted or modified afterwards. 8.
