Definition: (business) A company that wants to buy another company.

1. Has a purpose and considers it necessary. (Connect to #3.)

2. Company to buy is economically viable and sound. That is, intended buyer is on a solid financial footing. (Connect to #4.)

3. Has undertaken professional assessment and/or done due diligence on the company to be bought. And has come to the conclusion that deal will be very good and highly profitable.

4. Has takeover plans ready and in place, waiting to be executed immediately transaction or acquisition is completed.

5. Plans to revive or turn around the fortunes of acquired company when it is finally bought. Or plans to expand area of operation if bought company is to be 'merged'. That is, doesn't buy company, make quick money, shut down its operations, then wickedly leave 'millions' out in the cold!

6. Will not plan to leave the liabilities or debts of acquired company unsettled or unpaid, long after acquisition.
