Strike-breaking
STRIKE-BREAKING

Definition: The act of continuing or making some person or people to continue to work when other employees are on strike; the employment or engagement of somebody to replace people who are on strike.

1. Purposeful and necessary for strike-breaker(s).

2. Work is continued or engaged in voluntarily. Or the temporary employee(s) was/were drafted in from outside the organization, etc.

3. No law, industrial or labour, is broken by act or employment.

4. Work done during period will be substantial and significant.

5. What is done during period will not need to be repeated or be undone when the others resume from strike.

6. No unplanned loss by way of a sanction, attack, etc. will be suffered by who or those who worked during strike.

7. Costs of protecting and keeping workers safe and/or employing temporary or new hands - extra incentives, enhanced wage offer, renegotiated expenses, reinforcement of security, etc. - will not be prohibitive for the employer.

8. Act serves purpose(s) or achieves objective(s).
