| STRIKE (1) Definitions: i. A period of time when an organized group of employees of a company stops working because of a disagreement over pay or conditions. ii. A ceasing to work in order to put pressure on an employer. ______________________________________________________________________ * All seven elements should be in. 1. Purposeful and necessary. 2. Stoppage is lawful or as provided for in employment or trade terms or conditions. 3. Commences after a notice, before an initial or a first one (and a first strike or warning one before a subsequent, second or major one) (connect to #2). 4. A 'strike pay' is received during this period - this is paid by the labour or trade union, not the employer ! 5. All members of the trade/labour union (employees) participate. 6.
