| STOCKTAKING (1) Definition: (especially British English) The process of making a list of all the goods in a shop/store or business. ______________________________________________________________________ * All nine elements should be in. 1. Purposeful (to emphasize). 2. Necessary to have list made. 3. Authorized/approved appropriately, if required. 4. Total or complete, unrestricted access to shop/store or business premises is secured. 5. Procedures and methods for conducting activity are established and agreed on, and confirmed as adequate. 6. Each and every item, package, material, etc. is examined, assessed, marked or separated, if necessary, and counted before being listed. That is, an instance of counting a thing twice or more will not arise. 7. What is written or recorded is in the right form. That is, material that details is written on is proper and a tabulation, if necessary, stating details about quality, expiry date, etc. is provided. 8. Process is concluded and list is signed or endorsed, submitted to the right authority, displayed in the correct place, safely deposited or securely kept, etc., etc. 9.
