BIG DEAL (3)

Definition: (convention) (informal) You can say 'big deal' to someone to show that you are not impressed by something they consider important or impressive.

1. You understand fully what the other person considers important or impressive. Or you have experienced or seen the particular thing.

2. What is claimed to be important or impressive by the other person has no effect or impact, whatsoever, positive or negative, on you.

3. The issue or matter or situation will not be completely new or novel to you, even if the thing is not familiar or seemingly normal.

4. You do not go, afterwards, to make enquiries from other sources concerning the complexities, if any, of the 'so-called' non-issue.

5. There will be no rethinking or afterthought on dismissing the person who considered the particular thing important or impressive.

6. Yourself or your immediate family or interests will not suffer a future loss as a consequence of your being dismissive of the person.
