| STATESPERSON Definition: A wise and experienced political leader. ______________________________________________________________________ * All nine elements should be in. 1. Has experienced or had a taste or felt the impact of political power, either in or out of a 'power equation'. 2. Has served in many political capacities or been involved in a wide range of political activities. 3. Reliable; that is, leader will usually be trusted and generally believed (to emphasize, connect to #4, #6 & #7.) 4. The advice that person gives will be unconditional - without pecuniary considerations, the comments made, unbiased and objective, and behaviour and attitude to political issues, will be impeccable. 5. Patriotic - always preferring dialogue, discussion and compromise, not constantly warmongering or rabble-rousing. 6. Consistent and genuine; not a serial carpet-crosser or an unrepentant 'flip-flopper'. 7. His or her followers will be dedicated to his or her beliefs or teachings for all time or some considerable period of time. 8. Will be of the appropriate age, in the consideration of those he or she leads; a mature adult or senior citizen. 9.
