| SPOT CHECK Definition: A check that is made suddenly and without warning on a few things or people chosen from a group to see that everything is as it should be. ______________________________________________________________________ * All ten elements should be in. 1. Purposeful and necessary. 2. Authorized and/or approved, therefore, cannot be resisted or avoided, by what or who is to be checked. 3. Checker(s) is/are qualified and competent. 4. The wherewithal to conduct a thorough check is possessed. 5. What to check for are specific and identifiable, in a check list or a to-do list. 6. Not selective or 'random', that is, all the few objects or humans, selected from a group, are or will be checked. 7. It will not be possible for a thing to be hidden, altered, etc., especially by a person, while another person is being checked. 8. Suddenness does not result in a damage or destruction. And no unplanned loss is suffered as a consequence of being not previously notified of check. 9. Check lasts for a period considered appropriate. 10.
