| SPEECHIFYING Definition: (informal, disapproving) The act of making speeches in a very formal way, trying to sound important. ______________________________________________________________________ * All seven elements would be in. 1. Purposeful and necessary for speaker/talker. 2. Style of start, that is, the commencement or beginning will be attention-seeking. 3. Unnecessary stresses, pauses, etc. will be introduced during delivery of speech. 4. Speed or pace of talking or reading will not be hurried. 5. Eye contact will be established with listeners/audience, whether or not gesticulations accompany speech. 6. Words spoken, selected or improvised, will be grandiloquent and/or verbose. 7. Audience or listener(s) will be captivated. That is, method will achieve objective(s).
