| SOCIALIZATION Definition: (formal) The process by which somebody, especially a child, learns to behave in a way that is acceptable in their society. ______________________________________________________________________ * All seven elements should be in. 1. Purposeful and necessary. 2. Involves attempts or tries to have wishes, desires, experiments, trials, etc., occur, noting the reaction or response, if any, of/by the other (older, responsible) people in society. 3. Copies or imitates others, becoming aware of the society's dos and don'ts through the acceptance or rejection of his/her behaviour. 4. Protests, rebels, complains, sues, appeals, etc., whenever dissatisfied, and accepts the decision(s) arising from acts, that will be made by those in or with the appropriate authority. 5. Involves living and cohabiting with others in the society - not staying in isolation or becoming a recluse. 6. Continues till a full assimilation of the norms and practices of the particular society is achieved or adopted. 7.
