| SOCIAL JUSTICE Definitions: i. Social justice is the view that everyone deserves equal economic, political and social rights and opportunities. Social workers aim to open the doors of access and opportunity for everyone, particularly those in greatest need. ii. Defined as "... promoting a just society by challenging injustice and valuing diversity..." It exists when "all people share a common humanity and therefore have a right to equitable treatment, support for their human rights, and a fair allocation of community resources." iii. Promoting tolerance, freedom and equality for all people regardless of race, sex, orientation, national origin, handicap, etc... except for white, straight, cisgendered males. ______________________________________________________________________ * All nine elements should be in. 1. Purposeful and necessary to have set-up/arrangement in place. 2. Entitlement, etc. cannot be justiciable; all have same fair chance. 3. Cost or payment for access to information will be non-existent. 4. A basic education will be provided for everyone of school age. 5. Competition rule, if any, will be applicable to all those eligible. 6. Operates or allowed to be in only public, not private, area. 7. Achieves objective(s), only if and when everybody benefits. 8. Sustained by formal customs, traditions, regulations, etc. 9. Continues for as long as society is organized or orderly. _________________________________________ Should not be contested or challenged. Ought to be prevalent or in operation. Calls for all hands to be on the deck. It's a sine qua non for group progress. Achievable or attainable or agreeable. Laudable characteristic of a beingness.
