What is to be smelled is brought closer, or moved nearer to, or focused on. And nose/nostril(s) is/are put in the proper position. 6. Inhalation or breathing is done properly and lasts for a period that is deemed appropriate. (To emphasize, connect to #7.) 7. Recognition of quality (= smell) is made correctly and timely. 8.
