| BEREAVED Definition: (usually - the bereaved) A person who is bereaved (= who has lost a relative or close friend who has just died). ______________________________________________________________________ * All eight elements should be in. 1. Considers it purposeful and necessary to grieve. 2. Had a good relationship with the person departed, even if he or she inadvertently caused the demise of the deceased. 3. Did not knowingly cause the death of late person (if applicable). 4. Respects the memory and legacy of the departed. That is, will not criticize or condemn the dead, privately or publicly, and his or her conduct, during period of mourning, will be generally sombre. 5. Will not be expecting a miracle - resuscitation or resurrection - during the time, especially immediately after passing. Person will, therefore, accept sympathy, receive condolences, etc. 6. Mourns for a considerable but reasonable period of time. And gets over the 'irreplaceable' loss, hopefully, soon afterwards. 7. Does not end up dead, sadly, too, as a direct result of grieving acts or as a fallout of grieving actions. 8.
