Definition: (a slip of the tongue) A mistake made by using the wrong word.

1. Not deliberate made to achieve a specific goal, be it a factual error or some half-truth or a white lie.

2. Who made a mistake was not misled to committing the error.

3. Wrong word was rightly pronounced, written, spelled, 'signed', etc.

4. Comment or note was uttered or written with (false) confidence, and will initially be defended with (fake) conviction.

5. Message desired to be communicated will be unaffected by misuse. That is, the language faux pas or 'lexis offence' will be pardonable.

6. No serious loss will be suffered or caused as a direct consequence.

7. The error, embarrassing or not, would be realized later, promptly admitted and, therefore, will not be repeated in the future.
