| SHOWINESS Definition: (often disapproving) Having the quality of being so brightly coloured, large or exaggerated that it attracts a lot of attention. ______________________________________________________________________ * All six elements would be in. 1. Purposeful and deliberately retained. 2. Quality and/or features are deliberately cultivated. 3. Excess of colour, size, etc. is comparative. That is, quality is measurable and/or assessable. 4. No law or rule is broken or flouted by condition that person or thing is in. Situation, therefore, brings no loss of any kind. That is, quality is not ordinarily dangerous or risky to behold, treat, handle, etc. In other words, not a 'crude' or primitive display. 5.
