| SHOTMAKING Definition: (in golf, tennis, etc.) A way of playing in which a player takes risks in order to win more points. ______________________________________________________________________ * All seven elements should be in. 1. Purposeful and necessary to play in particular - superb - way. 2. Sensible and calculated - slow or fast - even if thought dramatic. 3. Cannot be anticipated by the opponent, even if believed desperate. 4. Concentrated and consistent, all through a round, game, set, etc. 5. The choices or selections that will be made or the risks taken will be the toughest - looking for angles, trying the extreme, attempting the difficult, etc. 6. The way (= chips, smashes, hits, serves, shots, swings, follow-through, etc.) taken will be incredibly accurate and fascinating, considering the general circumstances under which a play or the playing will be taking place. 7. Adequate and fair enough to get the desired, deserved additional point(s). That is, method of play happens within the rules of the game. In other words, there will not be out of bounds, unenforced errors, double faults; only eagles and birdies, winners and aces, etc., resulting in hole-in-ones, advantages, break points, etc. ______________________________ ... often of the highest order. ... usually SPECTACULAR ! | |
